Magnesium carbonate powder contains an essential nutrient found in many foods. Magnesium carbonate (not to be confused with magnesium citrate) is an inorganic salt that is white in appearance with the chemical symbol MgCO3.
Magnesium carbonate powder is insoluble and does not dissolve in water. Because of its insolubility, magnesium carbonate is often used in table salts to prevent clumping.
Also, often referred to as “chalk,” magnesium carbonate is commonly used by athletes as a drying agent to aid with grip in sports like rock climbing, gymnastics, baseball, and weight lifting.
