Ornithine is a nonessential amino acid that is created when Arginine is broken down during the Krebs Cycle. It aids in exercise and physical exertion along with Arginine and Carnitine.
Ornithine is useful in increasing insulin and growth hormone levels leading to muscle growth at greater rates during exercise.
It is also needed in order for Glutamic Acid, Citrulline and Proline to be formed. These are all amino acids that are responsible for giving energy to the cells. Ornithine is also able to assist in the release of growth hormone, which can increase muscle mass. It helps keep the liver and immune system healthy. The HCL assists with digestion and to make it more soluble.
